Doomsday: Last Survivors X Brandon Campbell Event Gives IGG’s Zombie Hit its First Theme Song

Doomsday: Last Survivors, the acclaimed survival game from IGG, has just joined the select group of mobile games big enough to have their own theme song.

And not just any old theme song, but a fantastically impressive theme song written by Brandon Campbell, an Emmy-winning composer whose credits include the music for Westworld, Pacific Rim, and Game of Thrones.

And we all know how badass THAT theme song is.

In case you don’t already know, Doomsday: Last Survivors is an open world multiplayer zombie survival game set in the aftermath of an undead apocalypse.

It sees you playing as the Commander, and your responsibilities are limitless. Not only do you have to create a safe shelter for your fellow survivors but you also need to strike out and explore the foggy areas around you.

Meanwhile you’ll find yourself fending off attacks by zombie swarms and, even worse, rival human factions hell-bent on stealing your resources and turfing you out of your hard-won territory.

The game offers a hugely immersive experience via the realistic visuals, along with features such as zoom controls that enable you to get as close to the action as you dare. There’s also a range of strategies you can use to make sure you survive including creating alliances and using a variety of different troop types.

To mark the launch of the new music video for the game IGG has even published an interview with Brandon Campbell.

He was clearly delighted to be on board for the project, saying that: “I’ve always had great passion for this genre and I’m so thrilled that this game has given me my first opportunity to work in this post apocalyptic world.”

If you’re interested in the creative process, you’ll definitely want to check out the interview to see how a maestro like Brandon Campbell ticks, not only as a composer of music but also as a lyricist.

In it, he explains how he set out to “balance the dread and fear of this post apocalyptic zombie filled world, along with the emotion and will to survive of the human spirit.” You can see the whole interview right below these words too.

And, as you can see in the video, Campbell is also a pretty accomplished vocalist, so IGG really got a deal with this commission. For Campbell, meanwhile, it seems to have been a bit of a passion project.

If you want to see what all the fuss is about, head to the Google Play Store, the App Store, or the Doomsday: Last Survivor (PC) website right now to get in on the action.
