After over 150,000 people adding it to their wishlists, Deadzone: Rogue has finally launched into early access on Steam. And trust us, it was worth the wait.

A roguelite first person shooter, it offers fast paced action which reminds us a little of the modern day Doom titles – but it’s even more frenetic and exciting than that, if you can believe it.

What’s Included?

This early access version includes chapters 1 and 2, which already offers a stack of missions to fight your way through – including a massive range of enemies, maps, bosses, and weapons.

As you’d expect from a roguelite the main focus is to work out a combat style that works for you, with every death giving you the opportunity to fine tune your weaponary and approach.

There’s a dizzying number of augments and upgrades you can unlock, and each time you die – in solo or co-op modes (where up to 3 players are supported) – you grow stronger.

Gunplay That Packs A Punch

The gunplay is the main draw here of course, and we’re pleased to say that every bullet fired feels impactful and exciting. Firefights always feel tense in the best possible way, and there’s a range of ways developer Prophecy Games have made sure things never get repetitive and stale.

One are the cast of enemies you face, with each foe unique and offering a new combat problem for you to solve. 

Then there are also a number of bosses to face, each one again offering a very different puzzle for you to work out. Even if yes, every solution does involve bullets in some shape or form.

There’s a range of difficulty settings so every skill level can enjoy the action too, and with over 30 weapons every type of player – from the more tactical to those who prefer all out attack – are catered for.
